(NewsNation) — House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., called for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to “resign immediately” after a journalist was accidentally added to a highly sensitive Signal group chat featuring plans for an attack against Houthi rebels in Yemen.
When NewsNation’s Joe Khalil asked Jeffries, “What would the appropriate response be to the Signal-gate situation now?”
Jeffires replied, “Pete Hegseth should resign, immediately, or be fired.”
Earlier this week, Jeffries called for Congress to investigate top Trump administration officials in the wake of a bombshell revelation that The Atlantic’s top editor was included in the group chat discussion detailing the Pentagon’s plans.
