Police are investigating after gunfire erupted on the streets of Boyle Heights injuring three young adult males Monday afternoon, officials confirmed to KTLA.
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the 400 block of North Soto Street at Folsom Street just before 4 p.m. on reports of the multi-casualty shooting.
The conditions of the three wounded young adults were not immediately available, though medical personnel with the L.A. Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Details are limited and it’s unclear exactly how the shooting unfolded, though aerial footage of the scene captured by Sky5 showed a heavy police presence in the area, with North Soto shut down in both directions and yellow tape cordoning the area off.
According to KTLA’s Gil Leyvas, the shooting reportedly happened near a learning center on North Soto Street, though it’s unclear if the victims or the shooting suspect had come from the location.
No further details, including a possible motive in the shooting a suspect description, were provided.
This is a developing story.
