WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The GIANT Company announced Friday that it has recalled its Nature’s Promise Organic baby and whole carrots due to the potential presence of E. coli.
This recall comes after Grimmway Farms recalled multiple sizes and brands of bagged organic carrots on Nov. 16. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the outbreak has been linked to 39 cases and the death of one person.
Health officials said the cases linked to multiple brands of recalled organic whole-bagged carrots and baby carrots sold by Grimmway Farms including 365, Bunny Luv, Cal-Organic, Compliments, Full Circle, Good & Gather, GreenWise, Marketside, Nature’s Promise, O-Organic, President’s Choice, Simple Truth, Trader Joe’s, Wegmans and Wholesome Pantry.
The CDC and public health officials are investigating the E. coli outbreak in 18 states.
As a result, The GIANT Company recalled the following products:
- Nature’s Promise organic baby carrots, 1 pound, UPC: 68826704735, with best if used by dates through Oct. 25, 2024
