Georgia Love has weighed in on a young family who decided to protect the fertility of their young daughter after the child was diagnosed with cancer.
The family, who are based in Victoria, said they elected to freeze ovarian tissue of their baby Hazel when a tumour was found near the child’s pelvis when she was just eight months old.
Love shared a link to her Instagram Stories on Thursday of a report in the Herald Sun that explained parents Lisa and Richard wanted to ‘future proof’ their child’s fertility.
The former Bachelorette, 36, stamped the post with a pink sticker that read: ‘File under: ”The Unfathomable Thought a Biological Female May Not See Procreation As The Only Reason For Being.’
Hazel, who will be two in December, is the youngest child in the world to have her ovarian tissue frozen, the publication reported.
The couple, who have not disclosed their surname to protect Hazel’s privacy, organised the surgery ahead of their daughter’s cancer therapy.

They were advised that it was unlikely Hazel would be unable to conceive once she reached adulthood because of her chemotherapy treatment and the location of the cancer.
Daily Mail Australia has approached Love for comment.
This is not the first time one time television journalist has been outspoken on sensitive issues.
In June the former journalist was slammed after she shared a video which appeared to be making fun of a man with facial palsy.
The TV star shared the now-deleted clip to TikTok, which captured her performing a skit in which she was sent over a drink from a mystery man at a bar.
Georgia was all smiles in the video as she accepted the free glass of champagne, before the camera panned over to the mystery man at the bar who bought it for her.
Australian comedian Sammy Peterson, who has facial palsy, was shown smiling at her from across the bar.
Georgia captioned the clip with some telling words: ‘POV: You’re sent a drink from a guy at the bar… The guy at the bar.’
Many of Georgia’s followers were left appalled by the footage, which appeared to be mocking people with disabilities, and quickly took to Facebook to complain.

‘This is gross. She often gets it wrong, doesn’t she? There’s a different between imitating a creep and imitating someone who looks disabled,’ one person sniped.
‘Oh boy, Georgia once again missing the mark. When is she going to learn?’ a second person asked.
In September 2021, Love posted a video to her Instagram account asking whether a cat was on the menu at a Chinese restaurant after seeing the animal in the window.
‘Shop attendant or lunch?!’ she captioned her post at the time. She also posted a similar ‘joke’ about pets and Chinese restaurants in 2013.
Critics claimed the footage was offensive and perpetrated a harmful stereotype about Chinese people.
Love deleted the video an hour later and apologised for causing ‘offence’, but at the time denied the post had any racist ‘insinuation’.
Georgia and husband Lee Elliot were later called out for promoting tourism to Saudi Arabia.
The Middle Eastern country has been condemned globally in recent years for its abuse of human rights on its people.
Love has jumped around a number of high-profile media jobs in the last few years.
She began her career in journalism at WIN News, before her profile skyrocketed in 2016 when she was cast on Channel 10’s The Bachelorette.
She went on to become a casual reporter for Ten Eyewitness News in Melbourne, later rebranded 10 News First, but was let go due to budget cuts in early 2021.
The role was what she described as her dream job, before jumping ship to rival network Channel Seven in February 2021.
A workplace investigation followed the furore over the Chinese restaurant ‘joke’ which led to Seven circulating an email amongst staff that Love had been ‘counselled’ and reassigned to an off-camera role ‘effective immediately’.
In 2020, Love finally addressed the scandal after staying silent in the wake of the backlash.
Speaking to Stellar magazine, the media personality called out cancel culture while also apologising for her actions.
‘I hate the term cancellation. To think that we have the ability to cancel somebody – whether that means from their industry, their job, their family and friends. We don’t have the ability to do that,’ she said.
Love said cancel culture is unfair because people aren’t afforded the opportunity to defend themselves in the ‘heat of the moment’.
She also lamented the fallout from the scandal, telling the magazine: ‘I had my dream job. I felt so lucky every day to be doing what I loved and what I had dreamed of for so long.
‘So to have lost that on-air job – I stayed working at Seven, but I was taken off air in the fallout – was probably the hardest thing for me, because I’ve always put a lot of emphasis and focus on my work and my career.’
