TAXPAYERS are funding a migrant hotline to help fix broken kettles and listen to moans about food.

The call centre is run by Migrant Help, which has taken at least £120million in Government funding since 2019.

Those in accommodation use it 24/7 to report problems from heating failures to NHS access.

Operators are told to log every broken item call, no matter how trivial.

But it has twice been accused of failing to act when called by migrants who went on to kill.

And a Home Affairs Select Committee report said Migrant Help, based in Dover, had “not been able to meet demand”.

The helpline is part of government’s £4billion Advice, Issue Reporting and Eligibility Service.

The overall contract with Migrant Help is worth up to a staggering £235million by 2029.

A Home Office spokesperson said: “This contract, along with its subsequent extension, was agreed under the previous government.

“All contracts are subject to review to ensure they continue to deliver value for taxpayers.”
