ED Miliband is “binding Britain to Beijing” in the drive to Net Zero amid the collapse of the China spy case, Tory leader Kemi Badenoch claims.

The Energy Secretary’s “green dogma” leaves the UK reliant on the Communist state, she warned.

Charges against Christopher Berry, 33, and Christopher Cash, 30, were dropped after the Government failed to provide evidence China was a threat to security.

The Tory leader blasted the UK’s reliance on China for solar panels and electric vehicle batteries and called on Mr Miliband to explain the spy case collapse.

China supplies renewable energy infrastructure essential in the drive to decarbonise the energy grid by 2030.

They are also big players in the electric vehicles industry.

The UK needs to have all new cars and vans fully 100 per cent zero emissions by 2035.

Both the Chancellor Rachel Reeves and Business Secretary Peter Kyle have visited China this year to bolster trade links.

But Mr Miliband hit back at the accusations.

He said: “We’re not going to in any way compromise our national security.”

He told Times Radio: “That is the absolute number one responsibility of any government.”
