They’d hoped it would be the perfect, private day.
But after insiders exclusively leaked details of Selana Gomez and Benny Blanco‘s wedding plans – including their celebrity guest list, set date and Montecito venue – the soon to be husband and wife have been left scrambling to regain control.
It seems that delaying the nuptials is out of the question, however, given Gomez’s busy upcoming schedule.
The 32-year-old actress and singer needs the wedding out the way ahead of the season 5 premiere on September 9 of ‘Only Murders in the Building’, the Hulu mystery/comedy series in which she stars.
‘Selena and Benny are fuming their wedding plans have been leaked,’ one insider told the Daily Mail.
‘If it wasn’t just two months away they’d think about changing the celebrations, but that’s an impossible task and they don’t want to delay the wedding and find a new location. Instead, they’re doubling up on security to make the event as private as possible.’

The Daily Mail previously reported that the wedding celebration will be a two-day event in September in Montecito, California – an elite enclave of Santa Barbara that’s home to A-listers including Meghan Markle, Oprah Winfrey and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The ceremony will be attended by close friends and family only, and invitations have already been mailed.
Among the expected attendees will be Gomez’s close pal Taylor Swift, as well as her ‘Only Murders in the Building’ co-stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Meryl Streep.
While most brides are typically consumed with writing the perfect vows or looking like a princess on their big day, Gomez’s main concern will be making sure her A-list guests feel comfortable surrounded by ramped-up security measures.
‘Security for Selena’s wedding will be of the utmost importance because not only is she a public figure, many of the guests will be too,’ a second insider told the Daily Mail.
Gomez has reportedly even considered implementing a no-phones policy.
‘She is going back and forth on whether or not to allow people to have their phones as an extra measure of security and privacy, along with the fact that she wants everyone to be present,’ the insider said.
The news that Gomez and Blanco, 37, are set to say ‘I do’ in two months time may come as a surprise to some, considering the music producer himself claimed on a recent podcast interview that they haven’t started planning their wedding.

‘We’ve both been working so much,’ Blanco earlier this month.
But it’s the intricate details that have yet to be fully ironed out, as our source revealed the couple has been ‘procrastinating’ on the specifics, such as where guests will sit and who will deliver speeches.
‘As for food, venue, who to have there, music choices – that is pretty much locked down,’ the second insider said.
‘Everything is there, the plan just has to be put in motion. A lot of last-minute confirmations have to be made, so some stuff might go down to the wire, but they are all confident it will go off without a hitch.’
Gomez and Blanco confirmed their relationship to the world in December 2023, revealing they had already been dating for six months.
A year later, Blanco popped the question with a massive diamond engagement ring worth an estimated $1 million.
News of their relationship was initially met with some criticism, as her devoted fans claimed Blanco was unworthy of Gomez. After all, the former child star has had a series of rollercoaster relationships, most notably her on-and-off romance with ex Justin Bieber, 31.
Her rumored feud with Bieber’s wife Hailey Bieber, 28, reignited last month when eagle-eyed fans noticed Gomez had unfollowed Rhode beauty company founder on Instagram, and that Hailey returned the gesture.

Indeed, Gomez has had her fair share of public breakups and makeups, which is why she’s seemingly intent on making her marriage last with Blanco.
‘The main paranoia that Selena has is that she wants this to be her only wedding ever,’ the source said.
‘She has anxiety, and the details leaking was difficult, but now they just have to move forward and not let it consume them.’
The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Gomez and Blanco for comment but has not heard back.
