Fullerton softball ace Malaya Majam-Finch has committed to national powerhouse Oklahoma, the junior announced on social media Monday.
“I am extremely grateful to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Oklahoma,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am beyond excited! Boomer Sooner!”
Majam-Finch has earned All-County honors the past two seasons in helping put Fullerton on the softball map.
Last season, she made second-team All-County after helping the Indians claim the Freeway League. She went 9-2 with a 1.32 ERA and hit .481 with 35 RBIs.
Majam-Finch was slowed late in the season with a bruised knee.
As a freshman, she went 22-6 in the circle and hit .371 as Fullerton won a CIF Southern California Regional title.
Majam-Finch plays travel softball for the Corona Angels. She is the niece of Olympic gold medalist and former Arizona standout Jennie Finch.
Oklahoma has captured eight national titles, including the past four.
The Sooners also have a commitment from Orange Lutheran senior center fielder Kai Minor.
