WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A former manager at a Walgreens in Chinatown pleaded guilty Thursday to her role in several inside-job robberies, the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) announced.

London Teeter, 21, faces up to 20 years in prison for her involvement in the robbery scheme, which happened about once a month starting in July 2023. She pleaded guilty to conspiracy to interfere with interstate commerce by robbery.

Teeter and three co-conspirators carried out seven armed robberies when either she or her co-conspirator were working. In each case, a masked gunman entered the store, made his way into the manager’s office, robbed the employees and then fled through a rear exit.

As a store manager, Teeter knew the timing of cash transfers within the business, the USAO noted. She and her coworker took turns pretending to be the “victim” manager on duty, knowing the robberies were captured on Walgreens’s surveillance system.

The robberies happened on the following dates:

  • July 18, 2023
  • Aug. 2, 2023
  • Sept. 2, 2023
  • Nov. 10, 2023
  • Dec. 4, 2023
  • Jan. 9, 2024
  • Feb. 11, 2024

The USAO said Teeter was present in the manager’s office and pretended to be a victim during the July 18, 2023, and Jan. 9, 2024, robberies.

The Chinatown Walgreens hired armed Special Police Officers to protect the business. Teeter knew that officers would be present during the robberies and a co-conspirator robbed the officers of their guns during the incidents on Dec. 4, 2023, and Feb. 11, 2024.

As part of her plea agreement, Teeter admitted she and her co-conspirators stole and split at least $28,983.

She also admitted that she reviewed surveillance footage from the Aug. 2, 2023, robbery during which a co-conspirator placed his firearm on a chair.

She said she sent a co-conspirator a text stating, “the vid looks so bad,” “idk why he put the gun down” and “he can’t do it next time [not gonna lie].”

Teeter was arrested on Feb. 22, 2024.

During a search of her home, officials found a loaded gun with 16 rounds of ammunition.

Trial dates are still ending for her co-conspirators, 34-year-old Michael Robinson, 25-year-old Kamanye Williams and 27-year-old Gianni Robinson.

In addition to a 20-year prison sentence, Teeter also faces up to a $250,000 fine.
