A Sigalert was issued for what looked like a lake forming on the 101 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles Monday morning.
Video showed crews at the scene who appeared to be trying to unclog a drain on the roadway.
The flooding comes after the downtown Los Angeles area received about a half-inch of rain over the weekend.
All lanes of the southbound 101 were expected to remain closed for an unknown duration with traffic being diverted to 4th Street, the California Highway Patrol posted on X at around 4:45 a.m.
