WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — One restaurant known for its made-to-order breakfast and brunch is hoping to inspire people with a sweet offer.
Wednesday, Nov. 13, is World Kindness Day, and people are encouraged to fill their day with acts of kindness and goodwill. To take on the challenge, First Watch announced that it is spreading the joy this year and giving away 15,000 cinnamon rolls for customers to “pay forward” as a random act of kindness.
“World Kindness Day is a reminder of the impact even the smallest gestures can have,” said Matt Eisenacher, Chief Brand Officer. “From holding the door open … to welcoming tables with a warm pot of coffee, our employees take pride in making our customers smile. Our core value is to ‘Be Kind,’ and we hope this day will inspire thousands of acts of kindness nationwide.”
First Watch said the first 50 dine-in guests at participating restaurants including those across Maryland and Virginia will receive a free Stay Golden Cinnamon Roll packaged to-go when they use the word, “Kindness.”
The cinnamon roll appears on First Watch’s seasonal holiday menu. It is a freshly baked roll glazed with lemon cream cheese icing and topped with golden sprinkles.
The restaurant said the name of the sweet treat was inspired by “The Golden Rule,” treat others as you want to be treated.
The offer is available for dine-in guests only and one Stay Golden Cinnamon Roll is offered per table, while supplies last. The offer is not available for takeout orders, orders placed through the First Watch app, or any third-party apps or websites.
