A British tourist has been reported missing after he failed to return home from a holiday to Bangkok.
Father-of-one James Sangwine, 33, travelled to the Thai city for a holiday on January 18.
His partner Katie, 38, said James, who is unemployed from Epping, Essex, told her he was going to spend time with a British friend, who now lives in Thailand.
But she hasn’t heard from him since he was heading to a bar to meet friends on January 20.
Unusually, he didn’t call to wish his seven-year-old son ‘happy birthday’ the next day – or board his flight home on January 24.
Distraught Katie, who is unemployed, says his phone appears to be switched off and he hasn’t attempted to contact any other family members in the last 10 days.
‘On Monday 20th, he sent me a little photo from where he was staying, and told me he was meeting some friends at a bar,’ she said.
‘He told me about it, saying it was a nice little place – and that was the last time we spoke.

‘While he was at the bar, early in the evening his time, he tried to call me.
‘But I was asleep – it was 11pm for me.
‘He hasn’t rung since – it’s not going through, like it’s off.’
Katie says she has reported James as a missing person to the Royal Thai Police (RTP) – but hasn’t had an update, and is worried it isn’t being investigated.
‘We haven’t been told anything,’ she said.
‘Even if James has passed away – we still need to know, so we can have his body back and give him a funeral.
‘Someone must know where he is, or what has happened to him.’
She says he was last seen while out with friends, at the Abandoned Mansion Bar & Restaurant, Bangkok, according to a local couple he met there, who texted her.

James’ disappearance in Thailand comes as another devastated British family searched for answers this month when the body of tourist Regan Kelly was found floating in the sea in the paradise island of Phuket.
The 28-year-old had just arrived in Thailand for a month-long trip when he went missing in the early hours of January 3.
The building surveyor from Selsdon, south London, was last seen in CCTV footage at the bar of the Mad Monkey Hostel, where he was staying on the island.
The footage shows him talking to a man, who also looked like a tourist but who was not staying at the hotel, for several hours before the conversation began to get ‘increasingly heated’, Regan’s family said.
Security camera footage from a hotel closer to the seafront then showed Regan running, with the unknown man following him some 15 seconds after, she said. The video, shared with the family by police, then cuts off.
At 10am the next day, a watersports instructor found a naked body face down in the water off Patong. Police sent photos to Regan’s family, who had reported him missing, and his identity was confirmed.
