A deadly crash involving a box truck has left all lanes closed on the westbound 101 Freeway in the North Hollywood area early Tuesday morning.
The incident involving the box truck and two other vehicles was reported around 2:20 a.m. near North Tujunga Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol later confirmed that at least one person was killed as a result of the crash in a post on X. No further injury information was provided.
Video from the scene showed the box truck had come to a stop near the center divider. A second vehicle could be seen in the far right lane with its hazard lights on as emergency crews responded to the scene.
A SigAlert was issued at 3:35 a.m. for the closure of all westbound lanes at Tujunga Avenue. The westbound 134 Freeway transition to the westbound 101 Freeway was also closed due to the crash.
The closures were expected to remain in place until around 6:30 a.m.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
