LANDOVER, Md. (DC News Now) — Washington saw another chapter of a nearly storybook season — the Commanders will be sending both Jayden Daniels and Terry McLaurin to the 2025 NFL Pro Bowl.
The votes and attention are coming at the heels of a historic rookie season for Daniels. Breaking former Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III’s single-season rushing record for a rookie quarterback. His top pass catcher Terry McLaurin also posted a career-high 12 touchdowns this season, along with over 1,000 receiving yards.
Commanders supporters are excited about the duo’s success like Tori Grier, a long-time fan. She and her husband were both season ticket holders, but with controversy and lack of success made the same decision as many and canceled their tickets. With newfound hope and a young star at QB, she’s thankful things have turned around
“We all should be very pleased if we’re Commander’s fans.” Said Grier. “Jayden has done (a great) job, nobody thought he could do this his first year.”
Amadu Bah, another Commanders fan said he’s glad the hard days are over.
“I’ve been a Commander’s fan since 1999, and I’ve been through a lot of emotions.” He said. “This is the most excited I’ve ever been. So I’m excited to see all that hard work pay off.”
The Pro Bowl is a huge accomplishment, but the playoffs are just around the corner as well. Washington clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2020 at home against the Atlanta Falcons. Fans can’t wait for the postseason.
“I’m very excited,” said Bah.
Grier also agreed.
“Of course I’m excited! We haven’t been to the playoffs since. I don’t know when.” she said.
Washington also has 11 alternatives voted to the game such as Bobby Wagner and Frankie Luvu to name a couple. The team will finish up the regular season Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys.
