Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Baldwin were criticized for letting their 11-year-old daughter Carmen wear make-up.
After the Rust actor, 66, and his wife, 40, posted a selfie to mark their eldest daughter’s birthday, they were met with backlash for their parenting style.
Instagram users flooded the comments section of their separate posts and asked them why there was a beauty filter and ‘so much makeup for an 11-year-old’ on Carmen’s face.
Critics called them out for letting their preteen daughter wear an ‘inappropriate’ amount of makeup at such a young age.
The couple have faced harsh criticism in the past for letting their daughter wear makeup since she turned 10.
This time was no different as a slew of fans criticized the couple in the comments section. ‘Full makeup at 11,’ one Instagram user wrote. ‘Good luck with that.’
Hilaria and Alec Baldwin celebrated their eldest daughter Carmen’s 11th birthday, where they thanked her ‘for being our light’ in the tribute on Instagram
In their selfie, which appeared to have been snapped at Carmen’s birthday dinner, Hilaria was sandwiched between her husband and daughter.
‘Happy 11th birthday to our Carmen Gabriela….we are so lucky to be your parents. Thank you for being our light, for making us laugh….and for being you,’ Hilaria gushed in her caption.
Alec reposted the photo and wrote: ’11!!! Love you, Carmencita…’
For the photo, Hilaria looked radiant in a black turtleneck top as she wrapped an arm around her eldest daughter.
Her husband of 12-plus years donned a blue dress shirt, and his salt-and-pepper hair pushed back off his face.
As for Carmen, the 11-year-old looked darling with her brunette hair worn down and what appeared to be mascara on her eyelashes.
One comment stated that Carmen is ‘seriously way too young to be wearing makeup.’
Hilaria and Alec are not unfamiliar with facing backlash as they were previously called out for letting Carmen wear makeup. Earlier this year in February, Hilaria shamed for allowing Carmen to wear full-face makeup in a photo uploaded to her own Instagram page

Another commenter said Carmen is ‘seriously way too young to be wearing makeup’
Sharing a similar sentiment, one Instagram user called Carmen ‘adorable’ but urged Alec and Hilaria to ‘let her be a little girl a bit longer’
Another social media user agreed that it is ‘strange’ that they allowed Carmen to put on ‘the amount of makeup that a 15-year-old might’

Another social media user agreed that it is ‘strange’ that they allowed Carmen to put on ‘the amount of makeup that a 15-year-old might.’
One person was visibly frustrated that they edited the photo and said it was ‘warped’ that they ‘enhanced’ Carmen’s face in the photo.
‘Please don’t keep sexualizing this child,’ another person wrote. ‘You are setting her up for a lifetime of pain.’
One user said she looked like she was nearly double her age while another wrote that their daughter is ‘looking too old for 11.’
One Instagram user penned: ’11 and makeup….really?’ Another person commented that they were treating the preteen like a teenager.
Even though their comments sections were engulfed in critical comments, some fans came to their defense.
‘Why do all you people feel the need to police her parenting,’ one Instagrammer commented on Hilaria’s post. ‘Mind your own business, your life will be so much more peaceful. She’s beautiful!’

Back in June, a photo of Carmen wearing mascara and glossy lipstick that Alec posted in celebration of Father’s Day sparked backlash.
‘Beautiful family. My 8 yr old granddaughter loves playing with makeup and we let her! What’s the big deal! So shut your negative mouths and move on,’ one said.
However, this is not the first time the Alec and Hilaria have sparked backlash due to their eldest daughter wearing makeup.
Earlier this year in February, Hilaria was mom-shamed for allowing Carmen to wear full-face makeup in a photo uploaded to her own Instagram page.
She typed in the caption: ‘Date night with my first baby…she did both our makeup. How quickly they get big and how amazing it is to get to be inspired by them.’
‘Carmen, you are such a special soul…just like your siblings…all unique and equally incredible,’ the media personality concluded.
Once again, social media users flocked to the comment section, with one adding, ‘Isn’t she too young for makeup?’
Another wrote, ‘Why do these celebrities make their children look so grown. Why all that makeup??’ while one shared, ‘She is a child. Please!’
