Two men have been arrested after a fight that took place on Tuesday November 25 just before 4pm.

Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene on Palmerston Road to find a man in his 50s unresponsive.

Franklin was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away on Thursday November 27, police have said.

The 56-year-old, originally from the London Borough of Newham, has been named and pictured for the first time.

Two men, aged 56 and 24, were arrested following the attack on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

They were later released on conditional bail while the investigations continue, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Mr Francis’s family have paid heart-breaking tributes to their loved one.

They said: “Franklin was a loving member of the family whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew him.

“His absence leaves a void that can never be filled. We will miss him dearly every single day.”

Specialist officers are supporting the grieving family.

Superintendent Sarah Jackson said: “We are doing everything we can to find out who is responsible and have made two arrests as part of our investigation.”

“I’d also like to thank the members of the public who helped the victim until officers and paramedics arrived on the scene.

“We understand this incident will cause concern within the local community and want to reassure the public that this was an isolated incident.”
