A massive fire left a row of businesses badly damaged or destroyed in the Harvard Park neighborhood of Los Angeles early Thursday morning.
More than 100 firefighters responded to the blaze reported shortly after 2 a.m. on the 1700 block of West Slauson Avenue to find several one-story commercial buildings engulfed in flames.
The crews doused the fire in a little over 45 minutes, but not before it spread to several buildings, including an upholstery shop, a woodworking business, a floral shop and a nearby apartment complex.
Witnesses said they heard loud pops as the fire tore through flammable materials and wood packed inside the commercial spaces.
The owner of the upholstery shop spoke with KTLA’s Omar Lewis after the blaze. “Everything is gone … it’s really sad, really sad,” she said.
There was no immediate word on what may have caused the fire.
No injuries were reported.
