Police are searching for a driver who fled a crash scene where two people died in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood of Los Angeles Monday morning.
The multi-vehicle collision was reported shortly after 5 a.m. in the 6600 block of Vermont Avenue.
Video from the scene showed debris scattered across the roadway, which was blocked off by yellow caution tape.
Arriving officers found two deceased victims at the scene, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Cervantes confirmed.
The identities and ages of the victims have not been released.
Cervantes said that one of the motorists fled the scene and is being sought by officers. The suspect was described only as a male.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
