The driver of a classic Corvette fled the scene after crashing the vintage vehicle in Los Angeles.

Video obtained by KTLA shows the aftermath of the crash – which involved the Corvette and a fire hydrant – near the intersection of Fairfax Avenue and Beverly Boulevard in L.A.’s Fairfax neighborhood around 11 p.m. Friday.

The classic car, which has black exterior and red interior, sheared a fire hydrant on Beverly after the driver apparently lost control.

It sustained significant front-end damage as a result of the collision, which created a geyser and caused water to flood a small part of Beverly Boulevard near The Beverly Grove shopping center.

Authorities were unable to locate the driver of the vehicle nor any possible occupants.

KTLA has reached out to the Los Angeles Police Department for more information but has yet to hear back.
