A HEARTBROKEN family has paid tribute to a “dream-filled” man who was tragically discovered dead at a popular UK wildlife preserve.
Cops continue to probe the death of Ernest Konrad Deputat, 45, who was allegedly murdered at the woodland in Southampton, Hampshire.
Ernest’s body was found in Southampton Common on October 8, at a spot where a huge fire appears to have erupted several months ago.
Police said he was discovered in the centre of the common, north of the Ornamental Lake and to the right of Green Path.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed his family are being supported by specialist officers.
Releasing a touching statement through the force, Ernest’s relatives hailed his “humour and lightness” in life.
They said: “Ernest, you were a modest, but dream-filled brother and son. Every meeting with you was unforgettable.
“Your smile, accompanying humour and the lightness, with which you conducted the conversation, made people want to be with you.
“The whole family always missed you and were waiting for you, waiting for your arrival.
“You chose the life you wanted; you were both the ship and the captain for yourself.
“Be happy now. We thank you for all the fulfilled moments, for every phone call, for every sign that you remembered us.
“See you soon, your Family.”

Cops launched a murder investigation in the wake of Ernest’s death and a £20,000 reward has since been issued by Crimestoppers.
The charity said Ernest was homeless and living off-grid at the time of his alleged murder.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Gillooly, confirmed a “large-scale investigation” remains ongoing.
He said: “First and foremost, my thoughts remain with Ernest’s family at this unimaginably difficult time. We will continue to support them.
“We remain committed to determining Ernest’s final movements, so that we can achieve answers and justice for his family.”
