Dramatic video captured a speeding motorist on a residential street losing control of their vehicle and violently flipping into the driveway of a home in Redondo Beach Monday morning.

The incident, according to the KTLA viewer who submitted the video, occurred at around 12 a.m. on Garnet Street, with the crash being so loud, it woke him, his wife and daughter up.

In footage of the incident, a driver behind the wheel of what appears to be a small white SUV comes barreling down the narrow neighborhood street when the vehicle is suddenly launched into the air, presumably after hitting a speed bump in the roadway.

As sparks fly off the bottom of the car, it lands on the front first before bouncing back to the rear and side to side.

The vehicle then swerves past several parked cars and homes before hitting what is likely the curb and flipping over and landing sideways in the driveway of a home.

Footage of the incident shows the vehicle, which sustained heavy damage, lying on the passenger side of the car in front of a resident’s garage door.

In his 33 years of living on Garnet Street, the KTLA viewer said he had never seen anything like the crash happen in the neighborhood before.

It’s unclear if there were any passengers in the vehicle or if the incident was alcohol or drug related, but a spokesperson for the Redondo Beach Police Department told KTLA that at least one person was taken to the hospital, and someone was taken to jail.

It is currently unclear if it is the same person.
