This came after there were unconfirmed reports of Haitian immigrants killing and eating pets in Springfield, Ohio, Newsweek reported.
Trump supporters and Vice presidential candidate JD Vance have posted about these rumors after rumors began in a private Facebook group for Springfield Ohio Crime and Information, according to the outlet.
A Springfield resident claimed they reportedly saw a cat hanging from a tree where immigrants lived.
But Springfield police told the local newspaper the Springfield News-Sun they have not received any reports of any of that activity.
