Between a marriage announcement, third MVP award and World Series title, Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani had a pretty good 2024.
And now, it looks like 2025 may be even better for the Japanese two-way baseball phenom. Ohtani took to Instagram on Saturday too announce that he, his wife Mamiko Tanaka and their beloved dog Decoy, who has become an internet favorite, will be welcoming a baby to their family.
“Can’t wait for the little rookie to join our family soon,” Ohtani wrote in the social media post.
In the photo was a pink baby onesie, a pair of New Balance shoes, which sponsors Ohtani, and Decoy — alongside a sonogram of the baby, covered by an emoji.
The Dodgers and MLB were in the post’s comments within minutes to congratulate the couple.
“Congratulations Shohei and Mamiko,” the Dodgers IG account said.
