Doctors are raising fresh concerns over Justin Bieber‘s health after the singer shared an unusual livestream over the weekend.

Bieber appeared shirtless and hollow-eyed as he played some raw demos for fans on Instagram, which had lyrics including ‘I’m sick and tired of hurting you, baby’.

In the stream, Bieber also said it ‘gives me anxiety playing this’.

After viewing the clip, but not examining or treating Bieber in person, experts told DailyMail.com that they were concerned the singer appeared ‘physically and emotionally drained’.

Jonathan Alpert, a psychotherapist in Manhattan, said: ‘From what we see in the video, Justin Bieber appears disheveled, fatigued and possibly unwell.

‘People are naturally concerned.’

Dr Gaurav Bharti, a plastic surgeon in North Carolina, added the star appeared ‘very gaunt’ and ‘a far cry from the Bieber we all know and love’.

He told this website: ‘You see this video, he has some scruff on his face, this is obviously a case where this guy is huddled up at home and goes live on something almost looking not his best.’

He added: ‘We still love Justin, we still listen to his music, the kids still listen to it, he’s a legend and people still want to hear from him and want him to be relevant. He deserves so much support.’

Bieber has previously revealed he struggled with Xanax abuse, saying he would take the anti-anxiety drug to drown out feelings of shame and humiliation that he felt about his life choices.

Alpert said: ‘It’s possible Bieber is simply exhausted from the demands of his career and personal life.

‘The best thing anyone can do—whether they’re a celebrity or not—is recognize when they need help and seek it from someone who will hold them accountable, not just tell them what they want to hear.’

Dr Bharti said of the video: ‘You know, this seems like a cry for help.

‘He looks in a very different state to the normal Bieber that all of us have known and gotten fond of.

‘He looks much older, much more mature, more like he’s been through some stuff.’

Dr Bharti added: ‘He looks aged and tired, with maybe a nutritional status compromised by a lack of sleep and food.’

Bieber appeared to be playing on his keyboard while filming the Instagram Live video, which had more than 60,000 viewers at one point.

The Live was flooded with concerned comments, with many fans sending the red heart emoji and wishing him all the best.

One wrote, ‘praying for you and your family young man’, while a second said, ‘We truly love you, man! Be safe’.

A representative for Bieber said he was ‘in one of the best places in his life’.

The rep added that the star has been ‘actively parenting his newborn son’ Jack with wife Hailey Bieber and putting focus into making new music.

According to the rep, Justin has had a ‘very transformative’ year and ‘ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.’

Bieber was previously diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2020, saying at the time that the condition had negatively impacted his skin, brain function and energy.

In 2023, he revealed he was suffering from Ramsay Hunt syndrome — a rare brain condition caused by a reactivated chickenpox virus — after he suffered from temporary facial paralysis on one side of his face.

This is one of the symptoms of the condition, alongside a painful rash near the ear, ear pain, hearing loss and a loss of taste. It can be treated with antiviral medications.
