Diddy and his legal team allege that the federal government is behind the leak of a video showing him assaulting ex-girlfriend Cassie.
According to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com on Wednesday, the 54-year-old rapper’s attorneys accuse Department of Homeland Security officials of orchestrating the release of the 2016 hotel surveillance footage of the violent incident to CNN.
Diddy’s defense argues that DHS agents have spent the past seven months attempting to sabotage his right to a fair trial by leaking confidential grand jury information.
They are requesting a hearing to investigate how the 2016 hotel video was released to the cable news outlet.
In addition, Diddy’s legal team criticizes the aggressive nature of the federal raids on his homes in Los Angeles and Miami, alleging that agents handcuffed his children during the operations, according to the outlet.

According to court documents obtained by DailyMail.com on Wednesday, the 54-year-old rapper’s attorneys accuse Department of Homeland Security officials of orchestrating the release of the 2016 hotel surveillance footage of the violent incident to CNN
The legal documents obtained on Wednesday state: ‘First, there has been a steady stream of false and prejudicial statements made by DHS agents to various press outlets over the last seven months.
‘Second, the agents engaged in a particularly brutal and public search of Mr. Combs’ homes, during which they handcuffed Mr. Combs’ innocent sons and then marched them before a news helicopter and the press. This was an apparent effort to convey that they had overwhelming evidence against Mr. Combs, justifying the public and brutal treatment of even his children, who were handcuffed and manhandled by federal agents armed with assault rifles.
‘Third, government employees have repeatedly leaked grand jury information and materials to the press to raise public hostility against Mr. Combs in advance of trial. The most egregious example of this is the leak to CNN of the 2016 videotape from the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles.’
The shocking surveillance footage of Diddy violently attacking Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel in 2016 emerged in May.
The video shows the rapper shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waist, chasing Cassie down the hall at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City.
As she tried to get into an elevator, he grabbed her by the back of the head and slammed her to the ground.
He then kicked her as she lay on the floor motionless, before grabbing the two designer bags she’d tried to escape with.
Diddy stood over her, kicked her again, and then dragged her back to their room by the hoodie.

After the video leaked, Diddy said he’d ‘hit rock bottom’ and made ‘no excuses’ for his ‘inexcusable’ conduct depicted in the clip, adding that he takes ‘full responsibility.’
Cassie claimed in a since-settled lawsuit that Diddy had paid the same hotel $50,000 for the footage after the attack.
Meanwhile, Diddy continues to be a force in the entertainment world, maintaining his influence even while incarcerated.
The music mogul is currently in federal custody amid serious federal sex trafficking charges and various civil lawsuits.
According to a source speaking to People on Monday, his reputation continues to evoke fear among many in the industry, reflecting the enduring reach of his influence.
‘He’s so powerful. Everyone was afraid to cross him,’ the insider claimed. ‘Even though he’s behind bars now, he’s still so powerful. We all knew it even back then.’
The source added: ‘He’s incredibly smart, he knows a lot of people, and he’s helped a lot of people — so a lot of people owe him. He knows that.’

The insider went on to say that Diddy’s obsession with control was often attributed to his creative genius.
The report comes after concerning footage of Diddy boasting of his plans to go ‘buck full crazy’ and ‘find girls’ with a teenage Justin Bieber has resurfaced online following the disgraced music mogul’s arrest.
The rap star’s formerly close bond with Bieber has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks – with troubling videos of a then-15 year-old Bieber spending ’48 hours with Diddy’ circulating amid the numerous allegations being made against the Bad Boy Records founder.
In the clip, Combs stands next to the young pop sensation, now 30, and tells the camera: ‘He’s having 48 hours with Diddy, where we hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream.
‘I have been given custody of him. He’s signed to Usher and I had legal guardianship of Usher when he did his first album.’
Diddy continued: ‘I don’t have legal guardianship of him [Bieber] but for the next 48 hours he’s with me and we’re gonna go buck full crazy.’
Bieber is seen wearing a black baseball cap and purple shirt while he smiles and looks up at Combs throughout the video, making small comments such as ‘yeah’ and ‘full crazy.’
The Tell Me artist then asked Bieber what he wanted to do, to which the teen replied: ‘Let’s go get some girls’.

‘Man after my heart,’ Combs replied. ‘That’s what I’m talking about.’
The video was uploaded on Bieber’s official YouTube channel back in November 2009.
Sources told DailyMail.com that the singer feels he has no one to talk to about the allegations and is ‘sailing these waters alone.’
Another insider claimed that Bieber is said to be so deeply ‘disturbed’ by the news of Diddy’s arrest on sex-trafficking charges that he’s cut himself off from the world.
Last month, Combs was arrested on shocking sex trafficking and racketeering charges and is being held in a notorious New York City jail without bond.
His case was reassigned to federal Judge Arun Subramanian on Thursday without explanation, reported CNN.
Initially Judge Andrew Carter presided over the case and denied him bail twice despite the rapper using both his and his mother’s homes in Miami — worth $50 million — as collateral.
Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges that detail allegations dating back to 2008 that accuses him of abusing, threatening and coercing women for years ‘to fulfill his sexual desires, protect his reputation, and conceal his conduct.’
The rapper, 54, was arrested and jailed in connection with a federal sex trafficking case which has since sent shockwaves through the music industry
U.S. Attorney Damian Williams revealed what federal agents found during the March raid of Combs’ Miami residence including confiscated unmarked AR-15s, ammunition, as well as 1,000 bottles of baby oil and other lubricant.
They also revealed evidence had been gathered of Combs’ long-rumored sex parties — which he referred to as ‘freak offs’ — during their raids on his Los Angeles and Miami homes, finding, ‘electronic devices that contain images and videos of the freak offs, with multiple victims.’
An additional 120 victims came forward last Tuesday accusing him of sexual abuse, with several underage victims, including a nine-year-old, among them.
The claims were made by Texas lawyer Tony Buzbee who announced he is representing the new victims who he believes have legitimate cases against the rapper.
Back in March, another old clip of Bieber and Diddy resurfaced shortly after Homeland Security raided the music mogul’s properties in Miami and Los Angeles.
The video saw the rapper grilling a then 16-year-old Bieber on why he hadn’t been speaking to him as much.
Bieber appeared anxious as he responded to his musical colleague.
‘I mean you tried to get in contact with me throughout all my… and what not… but you never got my number,’ he said. ‘I’m going to tell you my number.’
Bieber, who was just a child when he forged a friendship with Diddy, featured on Diddy’s track Moment, which appeared on his 2023 album The Love Album: Off the Grid.
Following the album’s release in October, Bieber reflected on his first encounter with Diddy.
‘I remember going to my brother Diddy’s office to pitch him a song I wrote for him when I was like 14,’ he wrote on Instagram.

Another resurfaced clip showed a 16-year-old Bieber appearing anxious as he responded to Combs’ questions about why he hadn’t spoken to him since his career took off
‘Sadly the song was trash haha and it would be a hard no from him.’
He continued: ‘Fast forward to a few years ago Puff asked if I would freestyle something for his upcoming love album. Wild full circle moment, love you @diddy.’
Combs has been in the limelight for most of the past year after he settled a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend Cassie in November of 2023, in which she claimed he engaged in sex trafficking and abused her.
A video of him attacking her in 2016 in a Los Angeles hotel room circulated this past May, leading him to say that he’d ‘hit rock bottom’ and made ‘no excuses’ for his ‘inexcusable’ conduct depicted in the clip, adding that he takes ‘full responsibility.’
