Diane Delano, the character actress best known for her recurring role on the popular 1990s series Northern Exposure, has died at 67.
The television actress died at her home in Los Angeles on Friday, according to TMZ.
Her representative said she had died after a brief illness, but her official cause of death has not yet been released.
Delano was known for the recurring role of Officer Barbara Semanski on the dramedy Northern Exposure, which ran for six seasons on CBS, from 1990 to 1995.
Her most notable film work was in the 2006 remake of the horror classic The Wicker Man, in which she played Sister Beech.
The Neil LaBute–directed remake, which stars Nicolas Cage, was savaged by critics but has gone on to become a cult film due to its over-the-top lead performance.

She had small roles in the notable apocalyptic thriller Miracle Mile, as well as the horror film Sleepwalkers, the thriller The River Wild, the Christopher Guest mockumentary A Mighty Wind, the horror film Jeepers Creepers 2 and the Coen brothers black comedy The Ladykillers.
In addition to appearing on screen in numerous television shows, Delano was also an in-demand voice actress for animated shows.
She voiced characters in multiple episodes of the cartoons Rugrats, Superman: The Animated Series, Teen Titans, American Dad, Ben 10 and Batman: The Brave And The Bold, among many other series.
Among her most popular work on screen was the teen dramedy Popular, in which she played the imposing science teacher Roberta ‘Bobbi’ Glass, as well as her twin sister, Nurse Jessi Glass.
That series aired for two seasons on The WB.
Delano also dabbled in soap operas with nine episodes of Days Of Our Lives in 2008 and 2009, in which she played the FBI agent Hilda Van Beno.
Delano was born on January 29, 1957, in Los Angeles, where she appears to have spent most of her life.
