The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department didn’t have to go far to make a recent arrest. Two Norwalk men with active warrants were in the lobby of the Chino Hills Police Station when deputies found them.
Jose Vasquez and Alberto Martinez were arrested on Wednesday after deputies contacted them and discovered they have warrants, the SBSD said in a news release.
It’s unclear why the men were in the lobby of a police station when they were being sought by law enforcement, but they’re likely to face even more charges.
“During a vehicle search, deputies located methamphetamine, stolen credit cards, a credit card skimming device, and burglary tools,” the SBSD said.
Vasquez, 42, and Martinez, 31, are each being held at the West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $30,000 bail. They’re due to appear in Rancho Superior Court on Friday.
Jail records show charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a controlled substance with prior convictions, and petty theft with prior convictions.
