Deputies in San Bernardino County found four young children sleeping in “deplorable conditions” inside a trailer where a man was said to have just overdosed on fentanyl.
A caller reported the incident involving a 21-year-old male in the 12000 block of Chamberlaine Way in Adelanto on Thursday, the S.B. County Sheriff’s Department stated.
“The male was located inside a small bumper pull trailer on the property,” the Sheriff’s Department stated.
Deputies administered NARCAN and continued lifesaving efforts on the unidentified man until he was transported to a local hospital. No further details about the man’s condition were released.
“During the investigation, deputies learned that four young children, between the ages of 6 years old and 10 years old, were sleeping inside the trailer in deplorable conditions,” the Sheriff’s Department said.
Deputies said they also found drug paraphernalia left near the children and made three arrests, including the parents of the children.
The parents were identified as Moriah Amesquita, 29, and Jacob Hernandez, 30. The third suspect was identified as 28-year-old Jonathan Garcia.
All three are residents of Adelanto and were booked at the High Desert Detention Center, where Amesquita was allegedly found to still be in possession of fentanyl, the Sheriff’s Department said.
The kids were all removed from the location and are being cared for by Child and Family Services.
