Demi Lovato is protecting her mental health and, in doing so, was forced to cancel several tour dates and postpone the beginning of her tour.

In a statement shared on social media, Lovato addressed the tour delay and the reasons for her decision.

“I am so excited to get back on stage this year and visit you in as many cities as I can,” Lovato began her post, addressed to her fans, the Lovatics. “While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible.”

Lovato continued, “To protect my health, and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour.”

The “Cool For the Summer” singer said tour stops in Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Denver had been canceled, adding, “I am so sad to say that I will no longer be able to see you on this tour and I am so sorry to those who planned to be there.”

Lovato will now kick off her “It’s Not That Deep Tour” in Orlando on April 13, which was originally scheduled for April 10. The singer assured fans that if they had tickets for the old date, they would be honored for the new date, and that refunds for canceled tour dates would be issued automatically.

“I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me! Thank you for your support always. I love you and I cannot wait to see you soon,” she ended.

Other cities in which Lovato will make stops with her It’s Not That Deep Tour include Washington, DC (April 16), Philadelphia, PA (April 18), Toronto, Canada (April 20), Boston, MA (April 22), New York, NY (April 24), Columbus, OH (April 27), Detroit, MI (April 29), Chicago, IL (May 1), Minneapolis, MN (May 2), Anaheim, CA (May 9), San Francisco, CA (May 11), Seattle, WA (May 13), Inglewood, CA (May 16), Glendale, AZ (May 19), Dallas, TX (May 22), Austin, TX (May 24), and Houston, TX (May 25).
