WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Highlights from the DCSAA Class A and AA boys and girls finals at the Charles E. Smith Center on the campus of George Washington University.
Georgetown Day vs. Eastern (DCSAA Class A Girls Final)
The defending Class A champs were no match for the top seed Eastern. Led by junior Labrea Carter’s 17 point, ten rebound double-double, the Ramblers claimed their first Class A title since 2019, defeating Georgetown Day 51-38.
Eastern vs. KIPP Legacy Prep (DCSAA Class A Boys Final)
Eastern completes the sweep in Class A, as the Rambler boys defeat KIPP Legacy Prep 50-43.
No. 2 Sidwell Friends vs. No. 5 St. John’s (DCSAA Class AA Girls Final)
In a rematch of a classic overtime final from last season, Sidwell gets revenge, dominating St. John’s 72-44. Junior Jayla Jackson with a monster game for the Quakers, scoring a game-high 27 points.
No. 4 Sidwell Friends vs. No. 2 Gonzaga (DCSAA Class AA Boys Final)
Gonzaga stops Sidwell’s chance at a four-peat, as the Eagles defeat the Quakers 67-51, winning their first DCSAA state title since 2020.
