WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Police in the District were investigating after a bicyclist who was involved in a crash two months ago died from his injuries last week.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the intersection of Queens Chapel Road and Channing Street NE shortly before 12:45 p.m. on Nov. 12, 2024.
MPD said that as 30-year-old Alexander Nikolento was approaching the intersection on his bike, a black Nissan Armada entered from Channing Street.
Nikolento made a maneuver to avoid the car, but fell back off his bike, hitting his head. He was not wearing a helmet at the time.
He was taken to a hospital where he died from his injuries on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025.
Anyone with information is asked to contact MPD at (202) 727-9099 or text the department’s tip line at 50411.
