He said: ‘Hopefully that’s improved. It’s ridiculous that we’re even talking about it.
‘I think back in the day with Victoria going to games, the fans were quite brutal. They sang songs about her. But I’m sure Taylor’s strong enough to handle whatever.’
On an apology note David and Victoria found on their car following the release of his BECKHAM documentary, he said: ‘It read, “We’re sorry how you were treated.” I’ve got the letter still. But that’s how people, I think, felt after the documentary.’
It comes after David confessed in his Netflix documentary BECKHAM: ‘They start singing songs about Victoria.
‘There was one song she’d kill me for singing – every football fan sang this song…’
Victoria then jumped in to reveal the taunt was: ‘P osh Spice takes it up the a**e.’
She continued: ‘Excuse my language, not very ladylike. But 75,000 people singing that, it’s embarrassing, it’s hurtful.

David also speaks to Variety about Victoria’s pout, a Spice Girls tour and apologies he’s received
‘I remember sitting down and the lady next to me turned and she didn’t know what to say, she said “do you want a polo?”
‘Because what do you say when you sit next to someone and 75,000 people have been saying you take it up the a**e?’
Discussing the ongoing abuse she continued: ‘We did not know what to do. It felt like we were drowning.’
Yet David reasoned: ‘As horrible as it was to look up at Victoria in the stand, actually it was the one thing that spurred me on.
‘When fans thought they could get to me by singing about my family I ended up scoring a goal.’

‘They will do certain things together at certain times. But Victoria’s full on with her beauty and fashion businesses. If anyone’s busier than me, it’s her.’
