The first key to a great defense starts up front with the pressure from the line.
This list of South Bay players will be bringing that pressure all season. Here is our list of Top Defensive Lineman to watch this season:
DAILY BREEZE TOP 10 DEFENSIVE LINEMAN
1. Khary Wilder, Serra, Jr.
Wilder is the top returning defensive lineman. He earned first team all-area honors last season and recorded 14 sacks.
2. Max Amasio, Leuzinger, Sr.
Amasio, who transferred from St. John Bosco, will give Leuzinger one of the strongest defensive lines. He recorded 14 sacks last season.
3. Lucien Holland, Inglewood, Sr.
Holland, a Boise St. commit, earned first team all-area honors last season. He finished with eight sacks.
4. Ryan Stowe, South Torrance, Sr.
Stowe has earned all-area selections in each of the last two seasons.
5. Elijah Harmon, Inglewood, Soph.
Harmon was a strong contributor as a freshman last season for the Sentinels. He recorded 86 tackles and five sacks and earned second-team all-area honors.
6. Kody Galloway, Banning, Soph.
Galloway burst on the scene as a freshman with a dominant season. He earned second team all-area honors, with 120 tackles and 6 1/2 sacks.
7. Paul Lepule, Leuzinger, Sr.
Lepule recorded seven sacks last season with Olympians, earning second team all-area area honors.
8. Robert James, Serra, Sr.
James is due for a breakout season for the Cavaliers. As a junior, he recorded 55 tackles and 3 1/2 sacks.
9. Dabe Nwude, Palos Verdes, Sr.
Another potential breakout player to watch. As a sophomore, Nwude had 25 tackles and recorded six sacks for PV.
10. Dayton Norris, Carson, Sr.
As a junior, Norris had 37 tackles and finished with five sacks.
