Cup Noodles is jumping on the pickle craze with a new limited-edition flavor that combines tangy dill with savory ramen.
The release, called Dill Pickle, hits shelves June 21 and will be available online and in stores like Walmart and Albertsons for a limited time.
“With pickles dominating everything from social trends to grocery shelves, we knew it was time to bring this cult-favorite flavor to Cup Noodles in an unexpected way,” said Priscila Stanton, senior vice president of marketing at Nissin Foods USA.
The company describes the new flavor as bold and tangy with a sharp zing, and recommends pairing it with a pickle spear for extra bite. The limited-time offering is the perfect “summer fling,” Nissin says.
Never afraid to try new things, it’s the latest in a string of experimental releases from the brand, which has previously launched flavors like Campfire S’mores, Pumpkin Spice, Breakfast and Everything Bagel with Cream Cheese.
Nissin, which introduced instant ramen to the U.S. in the early 1970s, says this summer release is meant to satisfy fans’ appetite for offbeat, attention-grabbing snacks.
“This twist is sure to catch noodle and pickle enthusiasts by surprise, in the best way possible,” Stanton said.
