CHICAGO (WGN-TV) — Chicago Cubs World Series champion Anthony Rizzo and his wife Emily announced Thursday that they’re expecting their first child.
The Cubs legend and cancer survivor has done so much for kids in Chicago and New York — and now he will have a son of his own.
His fan-favorite dachshund Kevin was featured in the Instagram post making the announcement.
“Kev dog is gonna be a big brother!!!!@rizzoe,” he wrote with Kevin wearing a “big brother” bib.
Rizzo is currently a free agent after spending the last three and a half seasons with the Yankees.
He was the first domino to fall at the 2021 trade deadline when the Cubs traded their core of Rizzo, Javier Baez and Kris Bryant.
