The president of a Crestwood trucking company was found dead and his business on fire Wednesday evening, officials said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office identified 46-year-old Dane Koteski, who is president and CEO of ATG Truckload, 13855 S. Kostner Ave., according to the company’s website. An autopsy was scheduled Friday to determine the cause of death, the medical examiner’s office said.

Crestwood Police and Fire departments found Koteski on the second floor after responding to a call of heavy smoke at the business, police said.

An autopsy was scheduled Friday to determine the cause of death, the medical examiner’s office said.

Investigators followed up on numerous leads and identified a suspect who worked for Koteski within several hours after finding the body, police said.

The suspect was located at a truck stop in Holland, Michigan, about 145 miles from Crestwood, police said.

Police said the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force notified the Holland Police Department, who took the suspect in custody at 5:15 a.m. Thursday.

Crestwood police Chief Kevin Sisk said no charges have been filed as police are still awaiting extradition of the suspect back to Illinois.
