The motorcycle and a light-coloured Jaguar car were both travelling towards Tunbridge Wells.

They collided with a silver Ford van heading in the opposite direction.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are leading the enquiries.

They particularly want to speak to the occupants of a blue Ford Fiesta that stopped at the Esso petrol station on the junction of the Pembury Bypass at about 6.41pm.

Police believe these people may have witnessed the immediate aftermath.

Drivers are being urged to check dashcam footage from the moments before the collision.

Anyone with information should contact Kent Police on 01622 798538, quoting reference EW/DCG/090/25, or email [email protected]. Footage can also be uploaded online.

The road was closed for investigation work but has now reopened.

Earlier today it was reported that a body has been found in the search for missing Lancaster University student Tom Dingle.

The 19-year-old, from Appley Bridge in Lancashire, had been missing since the early hours of December 13.

He was last seen on CCTV walking along Appley Lane North at around 12.40am.

Police said Tom was in a vulnerable state of mind at the time.

On Christmas Day, a member of the public discovered a man’s body in woodland off Lees Lane in Dalton, near Wigan.

Although formal identification is still to take place, officers believe it to be Tom.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

Lancashire Police thanked the public for sharing appeals during the search, which involved specialist teams including drones and mountain rescue.
