A MURDER investigation has been launched after a man in his 20s was killed after a vehicle is believed to have collided with a pedestrian at a service station.
Cops have are searching for a teenager wanted on suspicion of murder after the incident which took place outside Asda on Thursday, January 15.
A picture of Ashton Anderson, 19, who cops want to speak to in connection with the incident has been released.
An appeal has been made to locate Ashton who is described as around 5ft 10in, of slim build, and with short brown hair.
Three people have already been arrested in connection with the killing.
Durham constabulary have said: “Police are appealing for information relating to the whereabouts of Ashton Anderson, who is wanted in connection with an incident in Seaham on Thursday.
“Officers responded to reports of a disturbance on Stockton Road, Seaham, at around 4.50pm on Thursday, January 15.
“A vehicle is believed to have collided with a pedestrian on the New Seaham Service Station forecourt, where a man in his 20s sustained serious injuries.
“Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene, and his family are now being supported by specialist officers.
“Anybody with any information relating to the incident, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage in the area around the same time, is asked to contact Durham Police via 101, quoting incident number 281 of January 15.”
