COPS are appealing for key witnesses to come forward after a woman was allegedly raped outside a local business.
A 27-year-old man was arrested by police following the alleged horror assault on Bethlehem Street in Grimsby last weekend.
Detective Inspector Gemma Walker has urged people who were around the area to come forward.
“At around 5am on Saturday, 3 January 2026, we received a report that a woman had been raped outside a business premises,” she said.
“Officers were immediately deployed and began conducting extensive lines of enquiry, including reviewing CCTV, gathering witness statements, and engaging with the victim to understand the full circumstances surrounding the report.
“Following these initial enquiries, we can confirm a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape and has since been bailed pending further investigation.
“Investigations of this nature are extremely complex, and we are now at a critical point where we would like to appeal to two people who we believe may be key witnesses with vital information.
“From trawling through CCTV, footage shows a man in what is thought to be a high visibility jacket walking nearby, followed by a woman who is seen coming to the assistance of the victim until emergency services arrived.
“We would like to thank the woman who came to the aid of the victim at the time and would urge her, and the man who may have also been in the area at the time, to please come forward with any information, no matter how small, to assist detectives.
“If anyone else witnessed the incident, has any information or believes they may have CCTV or dashcam from around the time the incident occurred, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 26*915.”
