EXCLUSIVE: Brandon Zimon, who was hired six years back to help establish Constantin Film’s scripted TV operation out of L.A., has exited.

Zimon said on LinkedIn he will remain “in collaboration” with the German Resident Evil maker as a producer on several film and TV projects in development, with more details coming soon. Constantin declined comment on his exit. It is understood there are no plans to replace him.

“This is a challenging and transformative moment in the media industry,” said Zimon, who previously helped launch Skydance’s international division. “While change often brings pressure, it also brings possibility, so I couldn’t be more excited to start the next chapter. I’m deeply grateful for the smart, passionate people I worked with at Constantin and the experiences that helped shape me along the way.”

Former Sony executive Zimon was hired just before the pandemic to Constantin’s L.A. office in order to establish the U.S. scripted TV operation, according to Constantin at the time. His focus was English-language content for U.S. networks along with international co-productions.

Projects made during his tenure included Netflix’s Resident Evil TV series and Amma Asante’s adaptation of Peter Höeg’s Smilla’s Sense of Snow, which launched last year on Australia’s SBS and several European networks. He was also working on Constantin’s long-gestating TV adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo starring Jack Huston, which hasn’t yet made it to the small screen. Zimon also sat on the board of Constantin-backed Upgrade Productions.

Zimon previously helped launch Skydance’s international division in partnership with Lionsgate and was with Sony Pictures Television for a decade, rising from director to VP responsible for international TV sales strategy. He started his career at MGM.

Munich-headquartered Constantin makes the likes of Resident Evil, Monster Hunter and Regretting You.
