St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago kicks off with the Chicago River dyed green by The Chicago Plumbers Union, Chicago Journeymen Plumbers Local 130. The downtown St. Patrick’s Day Parade, celebrating its 70th anniversary, steps off north on Columbus Drive to Monroe Street, passing the viewing stand in front of Buckingham Fountain.
