Netflix dropped the trailer for its new real estate show, Selling the City, ahead of its January 3 premiere, and a cast member is already threatening to sue the show.
The reality series is from the creators of Selling Sunset, but this time, it follows real estate agents in New York City.
“I am a top real estate broker at Douglas Elliman, and I just had one of the biggest years of my career,” Eleonora Srugo says in the preview. “Now, I’m starting my own team.”
The series’ cast also includes Jordyn Taylor, Gisselle Meneses Nunez, Jade Chen, Abigail Godfrey, Justin Tuinstra, Steven Vold, and Taylor Middleton.
Selling the City is the third spinoff based on Selling Sunset, after Selling Tampa, which was canceled after one season, and Selling the OC, which aired Season 3 earlier this year.
In an interview with Tudum, Srugo said she has received support from Jason and Brett Oppenheim from Selling Sunset.
“I have a lot of respect for those guys and what they’ve built,” Srugo said. “But this is a little different. We’re a little grittier, and a woman is leading the team. The city also takes everything to another level. There’s a really high barrier to entry in this market, and it makes it extraordinarily competitive.”
In one of the key moments of the trailer, cast member Jade breaks the fourth wall for something that happened while filming and says, “If any of this sh** airs, I will sue every single one of your asses.”
Adam DiVello, Kristofer Lindquist, Skyler Wakil, and Chris Cullen executive produce Selling the City.
