Her iconic short shorts have been traded in for yoga pants, but would you recognize this legendary TV star today?

Shoppers in Pacific Palisades didn’t seem to know this actress who became a global sex symbol when she starred in the iconic Dukes of Hazzard show from 1979 to 1985.

Her legacy as on-screen siren Daisy Duke still lives on – as does the popularity of the teeny tiny bottoms that she was famous for wearing in the series.

In recent years, she enjoyed a recurring role on the daytime soap The Young And The Restless, spanning from 2012 to 2019.

Did you guess who it is yet?

It’s the original Daisy Duke, Catherine Bach!

Although not in her famous attire, the 70-year-old actress looked relaxed in an all-black ensemble as she visited clothing stores in the Pacific Palisades on Thursday.

She maintained her signature sandy blonde locks, letting them flow freely as she accessorized with a sleek black leather handbag and chic loafers.

Shielding her eyes with dark sunglasses, the star gracefully made her way to her nearby parked car in the upscale neighborhood.

The outing comes nearly 45 years after Catherine became a global sex symbol when she starred as the gorgeous Daisy Duke in the iconic TV series.

The CBS show first premiered in 1979, and it also starred Tom Wopat, John Schneider, Denver Pyle, James best, and Sorrell Booke.

It went on for seven seasons before it concluded in February 1985, and it remained one of the most top-rated shows during much of its run.

While the actress boasts an impressive resume in both film and television, it’s her portrayal of Daisy that will undoubtedly stand out as her most memorable role.

She even revisited the role on several occasions.

This included the Saturday morning animated series The Dukes, which aired for two seasons in 1983.

Additionally, she starred in the reunion film The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion! in 1997, and its sequel The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood in 2000.

Beyond her Daisy Duke fame, Catherine’s filmography features notable roles in films such as Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974), Cannonball Run II (1984), and You Again (2010).

Born on March 1, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, Catherine embarked on her acting journey in 1973 with her debut role in the film The Midnight Man.

However, it was her audition for The Dukes of Hazzard that truly propelled her to stardom.

Reportedly, she impressed the directors so much that she was cast as Daisy Duke on the spot.

Her portrayal catapulted her to massive fame, with a poster of her in character selling five million copies.

Her time on the show was marked by sensational headlines, including news that she had insured her legs for a staggering $1 million.

In addition to her acting career, she ventured into entrepreneurship, launching her own jewelry line at Debenhams in 2002.

Despite her successes, she has maintained a relatively low profile in recent years.

Catherine’s personal life has seen its share of ups and downs.

She married David Shaw in 1976, but the marriage ended in divorce after five years.

In 1990, she wed entertainment lawyer Peter Lopez, with whom she had two daughters named Sophia and Laura.

Tragically, Lopez passed away in 2010 at the age of 60, from suicide.

‘We were so devastated,’ she told Huffington Post in 2013.

‘When you are part of a happy family unit, you lose part of that… I mean, we were completely insulated and happy with our family.

‘Peter and I really knew what was important in life and I think we instilled that in our daughters. Their dad was everything to them, and that will always be a loss no matter what happens in our lives, no matter how great it is.

‘It is always going to be bittersweet because our little circle of light and family was everything to us.’

Catherine also acknowledged the support she received from her Dukes of Hazzard production family during this challenging period.

‘I worked for CBS for years doing Dukes of Hazzard, and they called immediately, saying, “If there’s anything you need, we want to help you,”‘ she told the outlet at the time.

‘That’s the kind of people they were. They all knew Peter. Then they said, “Hey, what about going back to work?”

‘And I did it. I just sort of said alright, let’s go have a meeting and we created this character (Anita Lawson on The Young and the Restless) and it has been so much fun.’
