A burglary suspect police thought was holed up overnight inside a tented home in the Del Rey neighborhood on Los Angeles’ Westside was nowhere to be found when officers made entry into the residence early Friday morning.
The incident began around 9:30 p.m. Thursday when police initially responded to the burglary call in the 12600 block of Short Avenue.
Arriving officers found the home was tented for fumigation and learned that the suspect was seen inside, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to KTLA.
A SWAT team responded to the location to attempt to get the suspect to come outside.
When officers eventually made entry shortly after 3:30 a.m. Friday, the suspect was no longer at the location, the spokesperson said.
No description of the suspect was provided.
