BRITAIN’S biggest police force has rejected woke plans to introduce gender neutral uniforms.
The Met launched a review when a legal ruling recognised the rights of non-binary and gender fluid people.
But a consultation of 30,000 officers has found they have refused the possibility of unisex outfits.
Instead, they have decided to stick to male and female gear and their current supplier contract has been extended to 2026.
Met chiefs said the decision was made to prevent officers being caused “discomfort or injury” in gear not “designed for (the correct) body shape or physical characteristics”.
The London force also said it will continue “to provide male and female uniforms and equipment to officers”.
It comes after we told how unisex trousers had left male officers in Gwent with “crushed testicles” while female staff complained of an uncomfortable lack of space “between waist and the crotch”.
The TaxPayers’ Alliance said: “Brits will thank the Met for siding with common sense over wokery.
“Instead of wasting cash on unnecessary unisex uniforms, they can focus their resources on tackling crime.”
