Fans have long speculated that a possible queer romance could be explored in the show between Cressida and Eloise Bridgerton, played by Claudia Jessie.
The theory gained traction when the Bridgerton show runner confirmed queer relationships will be explored in future seasons of the series.
The recently released series three of the show saw Eloise develop a close bond with Cressida, with many viewers hoping it will blossom into something more – coining the ship name ‘Creloise’ for the couple.
After Jessica’s post, several rushed to the comments and to Twitter to voice their belief that it was a sign that Cressida and Eloise would get a love story arc.
They excitedly gushed: ‘THIS IS WHY I FELT CRELOISE! My gaydar wasn’t wrong! on a serious note, I’m so happy for you! Oh we CLOCKED Cressida so quickkkk’.
‘justice for creloise that would be the perfect pride month celebration; so gay vibes between Eloise and Cressida was real?’
‘Creloise confirmed; eloise and cressida are 2 conversations away from realizing theyre in love like’.
‘manifesting creloise; i know i’m new here but if cressida and eloise don’t kiss i will put a curse on the house of Netflix’.

‘Babe, wake up. It’s June 1 and Cressida Cowper said, “Yep. I’m gay,” and Penelope Featherington said, “I love that for you”.’
Showrunner Jess Brownell was recently asked by Refinery29 Australia if there would be any major storylines including LGBTQ+ characters.
She confimed: ‘Yeah, absolutely. I think this is a show about the many ways in which people love.
‘So it only feels right to show all the ways in which people love, including queer love. So we are exploring queer love stories across the next couple of seasons.’
While she didn’t specify which characters, she added: ‘I don’t want to say exactly how that plays out. But it was important to me to foreground queer love and to tell queer stories and tell stories about queer joy as well.’
Since the release of the first part of series three, viewers have pointed at the ways in which they think there is love on the cards for Eloise and Cressida, pointing at their use of ‘courting language’ together.
While Jessica herself confirmed that she would ‘love’ fans to read Cressida’s relationship with Eloise as ‘queer-coded’.
In an interview with Decider last month, she said: ‘And queer-coded? I absolutely love that. That would be the best!
‘Yeah, I mean, that would be cool. I like to think it would make sense because, like, she hasn’t bagged a guy. So, like, why not a gal? But yeah, I have really no idea.’
