ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — Police said they were looking for a group of young people involved in a robbery that took place in Pentagon City on Saturday, the youngest of whom may have been five years old.
Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) said officers went to the 1200 block of S. Hayes St. around 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 15. after they received a report of the robbery. Police said seven children went into a business and hid items on themselves. Officers said two of the children, boys, left the store without paying for anything and that an employee tried to stop the other five children.
ACPD said the remaining group shoved the employee, then left the business without paying. The employee followed them outside at which point, a girl threw a drink at the employee. The group ran off.
Officers said the age ranges of most of the children in the group, which was a mix of boys and girls, was 12 to 14. The youngest child was between 5 and 6.
