Two high schools in the Athens neighborhood of Los Angeles were placed on lockdown Wednesday as deputies responded to a bomb threat.
The incident was reported just before 8:30 a.m. at Stella High Charter Academy and Middle College High School, which are both located at 1600 W. Imperial Highway.
The schools were placed on lockdown as deputies and two K-9 units searched the campus, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Parra said.
Aerial video from Sky5 at 10 a.m. showed students gathering on the Los Angeles Southwest College football field, which shares the same address as the high schools, while law enforcement searched the campus.
The incident occurred within minutes of a reported stabbing at Benjamin Franklin High School, also located in Los Angeles.
