Authorities are investigating after a body was found near the 101 Freeway in Camarillo Friday.
The Ventura County Aviation Unit was conducting an aerial search for a missing person when they spotted a female’s body lying in a ravine just south of the freeway shortly before noontime.
California Highway Patrol officers and Ventura County Sheriff’s Department detectives responded to the scene to investigate.
Details on how the person died or how long her body may have been in the ravine were not released.
Detectives said foul play was not suspected, though it’s unclear whether alcohol or drugs were involved.
Neither the person’s age nor identity was released. No arrests were made as the case remains under investigation.
