It comes just days after the body of missing Brian Wright’s son Charles was discovered in an outbuilding at the family’s farm in Langford.

Nottinghamshire Police are treating the case as a suspected murder-suicide and are not pursuing anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This is clearly a deeply tragic case, and we are continuing to support family members at this extremely difficult time.

“We again ask the media and public to respect their privacy as they come to terms with recent events.

“I would like to thank everyone who shared our appeals to locate Brian since he went missing, as well as our search teams for their professionalism and dedication over the last few days.

“A post-mortem examination and formal identification will be carried out in due course and a file prepared for the coroner.”

Two days after he vanished, the body of Brian’s son Charles was discovered in an outbuilding at the family’s farm in Langford, Nottinghamshire.

Cops previously said they were linking the death to Brian’s disappearance after Charles, 52, reportedly ploughed a vehicle into his brother James Wright and another local.

Neither of the two suffered serious injuries and James’ death is not being treated as suspicious.

The 82-year-old was praised by locals as a “lovely man” who fundraised for his local church and served on Winthorpe with Langford Parish Council.

One claimed that the pensioner had an argument with son Charles before he disappeared.
